Tips:
*On level 5, it's easy to fall infinitely, Portal-style, and then break the hit detection because you're moving too fast. It can be useful to add a maximum fall speed to the gravity.

*Every time you press "play", the music starts again. Set it to "start" instead of "event" to prevent this, or have it "stop" just before it starts.

*The hit-detection on the .. moose-brick.. should be for a smaller area INSIDE the brick, such as the "body". (unless you wanted the tip of the antlers to activate the portals)

USBclip responds:

Ok, thanks! All glitches are fixed, and audio was worked on! I plan to make a "The Brick With Antlers 2" once I get better with flash, and will make it an actual game worth playing!

I can't believe...

I can't believe that in a game so simple yet addictive you didn't bother to:

1)Make the background move in a loop, or move at all. That would have made it seem more hectic too. You could even have used a mask to keep the "outer" background clouds stationary.

2)Let the user select starting level. It takes forever for it to start becoming a challenge, and I just don't have the patience to do the first part all over again.

So... Umm.. Do that.

Ophyr responds:

Yeah, the scrolling background is something I should have done... The reason I didn't add the choice for a starting level is because the game can be beaten :) It would be easy to select level 10, play a few minutes and beat the game :D

Thanks for the review!

intro was too long

An average, fairly small "tutorial", which from what I saw in the actionscript section, involves more copy-and-paste then learning...

I'd rather go to an actual "web site" to "learn", hopefully one with full text and descriptions - and more, period.

Maybe I'm just tired of flash tutorials presented in flash that don't really teach a whole lot (which is most of them) and really serve no purpose. There are also WAY too many of them.

Derc-Tora responds:

I dont like you!
Did you even look at the Drawing Part of the TUT? >:/

hmm

I don't know what it is that irks me about mausland...
It's like you're constantly submitting simple games with really elaborate menu screens and music and so forth... It's just... I don't... ARGH!

Wiesi responds:

mausland loves you

How do I say this nicely...

Ermm... I get the point... But it kind of blows. As in, it's not fun, and the only graphic is that "hill thing" video clip and the bear... Level one is just not fun, and level 2 is just fast enough that when you crash you have no desire to repeat level 1. :(

RVWD responds:

hmm.... i think you have :D

really fun

although it was really fun, it should have shown the current number of pacmen killed and maybe the time left. Also I'm sure I killed like 50 pacmen in the level where you have to kill 20 but I lost. I'm not letting that effect the score though,

5/5

really addictive

ThinXIII responds:

No i have added a pacman counter and a timer but some how you cannot see it, it's because you are viewing it in HTML just view the SWF file to see everything.

huh

There are a lot of religous symbols, which is kind of confusing. Also, the shapes are similaer and the same colour. For true accuracy there should be more differences. Otherwise good though. Nice graphics and presentation.

KREVENCY responds:

Thanks. The religious symbols were just what came to mind (I later regretted not using hearts, stars, horseshoes, clovers and the moon). I wasn't really going for a serious test thing, but thanks for the observation.

hard and wtf

I spent like 5 minutes trying to "shoot" that red dot... Why am I shooting a red dot?

TheComet responds:

Well, I made the movement realistic (I asked somebody with military experience with sniping) to life, and the red dot is the target. the script messed up so you don't get to the frame showing shot stats.
In case your wondering, the bg is a traced bitmap of the CHUK in hong kong.

hmm

"Walls" would be fun if it wasn't so hard, the other games are still sort of confusing.

Amboutji responds:

ill try to make walls a little easier

fun

Reminds me of lander (arcade classic). I think you need sound, an animation for when the ship crashes, and maybe a shorter intro so lazy people like me will read it... :p It's good though.

thewasteofwebspace responds:

all coming soon my man. thanks for playing

I am classified as a human people person man.
