I had trouble with CS5 crashing every time I tried to rotate a PNG, so I opened up CS6 (which I'd been avoiding due to habits), and found that WHEN YOU ENTER A GRAPHIC, IT GOES TO THE FRAME THAT YOU'RE ON. Depending on how you animate, this may or may not be amazingly handy.

Also CS6 doesn't seem to crash every few seconds. (but still, ctrl+s constantly)

I felt the need to share this story.

StalkOBroccoli responds:

TELL ME ABOUT IT, though i have of yet to try CS6, due to financial issues.
Flash just doesn't seem to bode well with the SIMPLEST of things, yet you can pull off INCREDIBLY difficult tasks on a whim!
quite infuriating when you get down to it! and I've been using flash for some time, so I CONSTANTLY find myself CTRL+S 'ing, but sometimes i'll forget... AND THAT'S WHEN FLASH STRIKES!

It's too bad you can't submit movies to the "art" portal. As art, this is great! It would also be great as part of an animation, or the menu of a game or something. But I hesitate to even give a rating, because it's submitted as a movie, so I don't know how to even classify it.

stoneseeker responds:

It does feel like a menu to a game... That would be a fun job actually.

Huh?

It doesn't look like stop motion.. some of them even have blur from movement. If it really /IS/ stop motion, then I wonder why you just moved your hand around, instead of doing anything weird looking or physically impossible?

M4KBOT responds:

the only part which wasn't stop motion was the bit with the piano, The rest was, I took 3 frames per shot, normal movement wouldn't be that quick and jerky.

hmm

Why was it exported as a non-Flash movie and put back into Flash? Now it's a whopping 8 megabytes, even though there's hardly any animation.
The intro should be much shorter too.

kastfilms responds:

ok...thanks for the helpful tips:)

factual problem, but still awesome

Not only are they not spiders but their size has been exxagerated, and they dont attack people.. they attach themselves to camels and act like parasites.

but that aside, this was surprisingly funny and unexpected. awesome work. really didnt expect that ending.

Falconer02 responds:

Thank you! They dont do anything to camels actually. That's one of the myths about them. They're called Camel Spiders simply because they live in the desert. And they bite if provoked.

You are a threat and must be destroyed.

I missed some of the credits at the end, and I know you didn't pick the music - but I just don't understand how you animated much of this yourself. I'm just learning some of the techniques you used in there myself. (like the "fake" lighting and effects you just can't do in Flash, so you have to learn to mimic them or look at how others have done it. How did you learn all those Flash tricks??)

If you animate just as well 3 years from now , it will still be excellent (although by then hopefully you'll have learned flash enough to work faster and more efficiently - it's handy). There was very little lacking, although there wasn't much of a plot, but the graphics made up for that.

Good luck pwning us all in the future.

Galenlome responds:

Glad to see some people with a sense of humour.
Thanks for the positive comments, and yeah since I made this, I've learned to animate a lot quicker, and my next animation should be out...in a while..

I don't like it, personally.

9 in graphics, because that part impressed me (I suck at graphics) but I just don't see the humour / entertainment in watching people suffer. It's just this new "fad" I don't enjoy. :/

Snakejohnson responds:

Mankind has always enjoyed the suffering of others. Just look at all the torture devices that have been invented. Look at mustard gas, theres nothing quick and painless about that death. Hell look at reality TV. That's all about watching other people suffer so that we can feel better about ourselves.

"But nobody really cares" What? I mean yes. True.

I was pretty much just waiting for something to happen. I mean, a bunch of random stuff happened, but it was all really the same - random "stuff" just moved - erm, tweened in a straight line - by the screen. For something called "daydreams" I'd expect at least some mildly creative stuff to go by (not that that would be entertaining all that much either, unless it was REALLY good) but the only really creative looking things were the sprites - which aren't yours. Why would you"imagine" things which already exist anyway? All in all the ending was funny (mostly the commentary) but the movie lacked in graphics, and did not hold my interest in any way. Musical choice fit. I'm sure the inside jokes were funny to whoever was sopposed to get them.

Aaron-the-wolf responds:

Oh...well you obviously didn't find the very obvious button that makes cool things happen!like explosions, and hookers falling from the sky!So...You say "why would I imagine things which already exist",well...I supposed every thought in my head is supposed to be origional...you know...every good parody starts with others work to play off on.It obvious that you don't see the great jokes everyone else has seen....perhaps you aren't looking hard enough.

argh

the menu ... was ... so ... frustrating ... it just faded ... slowly ... from section ... to ... sec ... ti ... o ... n. (You get it)

The movies were funny though, even though I don't really like clocks all that much.

And to the last guy who said "you insulted america - what's wrong with you - blam this" that is retarded. When it's a high crime to make a passing joke using a certain country as the butt, that's scary. Maybe he should join the army and fight for freedom?

PS: First movie was funniest, me thinks.

PPS: Why the hell did strawberry clock sound like a human...??!?

PPPS: Style and graphics are low because they're clocks. Interactivity is 0 because the menu is F*CKING KILLING ME!

MawOfTheDragon responds:

Menu worked fast for me. Try turning down the quality.

Buahaha

Okay, so the graphics were crappy - but not the toons. The best being the wrong number, the mountain climber (although it started with worse graphics than normal even), and the hot dog. Advice: Improve graphics a tad, don't say they're bad in the description, and if you don't like all of them, include LESS! If there are 5 good ones don't but in 12 - more is not better. It's better if people are only left with good to remember (for rating's sake). Anyway good work and voices weren't bad either, it's just the graphics were obviously beginner. Funny stuff.

Crumie responds:

Yeah well i've been doing flash for over a year, so they aren't beginner lol. Im just to lazy to add details. I need a drawing pad thing cuz i do my best drawing with a pen not a mouse.

I am classified as a human people person man.
